Ali has occupied several managerial and leadership positions over 26 years and has thorough understanding of the government sector and its digital transformation. He has led the office of vision realization (VRO) to support the ICT & Post sector’s transformational initiatives within the National Transformation Program 2020 and Saudi Vision 2030. Ali is one of the key founders of the National eGovernment initiative in the kingdom and worked as the Director General of the Saudi e-Government Program(Yesser) with over 3 billions budget for the 1st Action plan where he contributed to important achievements including: Improvement of Saudi Arabia ranking in UN e-Government Index from 104 to 36 globally by 2015, Development of Shared Government Infrastructure including the Government Secured Network (GSN) & the Government Services Buss (GSB), Development of “saudi.gov.sa” the e-Government national portal reaching 2507 e-Services by 2015. Ali served as a member of many boards such as King Fahad National Library’s Board of trustees, and Saudi Post board of directors. He has participated in several cross-governmental committees, projects, and consulting studies. He also took role in the development of IT & Knowledge Society-related regulations, Strategies and Plans for KSA. He established and launched many strategic initiatives & programs in the ICT sector as part of National Transformation Program 2020 (NTP 1.0) such as the IT Industry Development Program, National Broadband Coverage Program, ICT Human Capital & Digital Skills Development Program, Digital Awareness Program, and eCommerce National Program. He Participated in establishing and activating the Saudi national Health Information Center (NHIC), led the development of the 1st NHIC’s Action plan to support the National eHealth Program, and led the execution of some of its initiatives. Ali contributed to several IT and management consultation studies for many governmental and private sector entities.
