Making a difference by positively impacting real-world scenarios is at the core of my professional drive and interest. An experienced investigator and intelligence specialist who has worked at the forefront of UK law enforcement, I bring a combination of technical expertise and thought leadership in identifying and managing emerging threats and areas of risk and recognising the vunerable. I built my career with the National Crime Agency, contributing to the UK's drive to cut serious and organised crime. Over my 12 years with the NCA in its various forms, my roles spanned investigation, intelligence, research and analysis, policy advisory and policing practices. I developed extensive strategic and tactical experience in building the intelligence picture for specific threat areas and carried out investigations leading to the disruption of illegal activity, bringing to justice serious organised criminals. As a result, I understand how to work in secure environments, dealing with sensitive information and managing investigations in dynamtic time-critical situations. From Autumn 2017 - Summer 2024, I have been based full time in the Middle East (Amman, Jordan and Riyadh, KSA). I completed an MSc in Forensic Accounting to develop my knowledge and investigative skills relating to anti-money laundering and fraud investigation, I am also in the process of gaining ICA certification in anti-money laundering and compliance. Currently I have the priviledge of working on my second capacity and capability development project with the Jordanian Public Security Directorate (PSD) in my role as Anti-Narcotics Lead. This role is a development from my previous embed role with the PSD Security Strategic Studies Department (SSSD). Through these roles I have gained deep understanding of the geopolitics and cultural factors impacting the stability of the stability of the region as well as regional alliances and networks. Further to this I have extensive knowledge of working closely with international partners and stakeholders to build a collaborative approach to business change - through the implementation of national strategy and supporting policy development. Please contact me to discuss consulting and advisory contracts or full-time roles.

Part of the UK Support to the Jordanian Public Security Directorate (PSD) delivering activity on behalf of the UK HMG: Conflict, Stability and Security Fund (CSSF). As an embedded advisor with the PSD, I am working with the Security Strategic Studies Department (SSSD) on identifying opportunities to grow officer capability and enhance skills in areas including assessment writing, effective handling of threat assessments, research methods, interviewing techniques and analysis. Through a combination of mentoring, training and advising, I have supported the increased quality of the work product of the SSSD and helped raise its visibility and standing within the PSD.
A planned career break with time spent in Riyadh, KSA and Amman, Jordan. During this break, I completed an MSc in Forensic Accounting and am in the process of gaining further certification in anti-money laundering and compliance to complement my investigatory skills and experience. Accompanying my husband on an overseas role, I played an active part of British Embassy communities, organising and hosting networking and well-being events, managing and running a playgroup for parents/carers and young children, and organising and delivering numerous seasonal family events.
As NCA's appointed representative within the policy advice team, I assisted the passage of a Bill - Investigatory Powers Act (IPA) from drafting, review and inception in what was a rapidly evolving and dynamic situation. I engaged with ministers, politicians and parliamentary staff as well as industry, academia and privacy groups on investigatory powers to ensure they had an accurate understanding of the impact of changes on investigative requirements abd increased transparency in policing. I produced and delivered presentations on the impact of the legislation and was part of the team briefing ministers in person, generating case studies representative of each new draft of legislation. To increase the awareness and to help decision makers grasp the potential impacts and limits on operational activity.
Utilising both overt and covert methods, inclusing surveillance, I pinpointed, assembled and assessed evidence to gain a comprehensive evidential picture, then deployed operational strategies and tools that brought offenders to justice. Building relationships with pther UK and international law enforcement agencies, the UK police and Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), I liaised with counterparts on arrests and covert investigations. In a series of roles that included Disclosure Officer, Exhibits Officer and Surveillance Officer, I managed operational activity in threat-to-life situations and built extensive experience in case management. I trained in arrest, conflict management, systematic search, witness, victim and suspect interview, dealing with vunerable individuals (victims and witnesses), disclosure and courtroom presentation.
