As a member of the Agile Transformation team, we were tasked with creating a bank wide culture of autonomy, mastery and relatedness, using Agile practices as a mechanism. Through my role, I've been able to develop a composite skill set of Agile coaching and consulting; scrum mastery as well as expertise in training and facilitation. My role includes training employees, both on the job and in a classroom. We assist with and facilitate team kick offs and working agreements. We help teams visualise their work as well as select an appropriate framework to follow (Scrum, Kanban or a mix of the two frameworks). I'm most proud of the two courses I developed and delivered, as part of the Training arm of our team. The first was User Story Writing: this course teaches students how to write user stories and how user stories differ from traditional requirements gathering. It covers User Roles, User Story mapping as well as key elements needed to write good User Stories. The second was Scrum for Scrum Masters: this advanced course shares key insights and practical skills to assist students with the technical aspects of being a scrum master. We share practical guides on their role as a Scrum Master, such as how to run Scrum Events, Estimation, burn down charts and release planning. I am a certified CSM, PSM and KMP practioner (level 1 & 2). I have also attended: - Coaching Agile Teams, by Lyssa Adkins and Antoinette Coetzee - Management 3.0, by Mike Leber and IQ Business - ORSC (Organisation and Relationship Systems Coaching) by Mish Middleton - Training from the back of the Room, by Philiy Lander & Just Plain Agile

The Prime Services Build the Bank team supports the Prime Operations area from an IT perspective. The team is responsible for projects, enhancements and upgrades to the systems this Business unit uses. My role as the Scrum Master for this team included tasked with implementing the Agile mindset and ways of working, into the Prime IT team. As part of a Company-wide decision, Agile needed to be the new way the team worked and produced value for their Clients. This involved me educating the team about the Agile ways of working and what it meant to be a self-organised, autonomous team. My daily tasks involved running Scrum events, observing the team, protecting the team as well as helping resolve impediments. My role also included networking with other Scrum Masters, to learn from them, share experiences and talking about Impediments that we’d faced. This helped share knowledge and build a community of support within the Scrum Master role. The achievement i'm most proud of was being invited to attend the Scrum Master Academy 2.0 from April – June 2016. I was part of the 50% of the class that passed the PSM (Professional Scrum Master) exam. The Scrum Master Academy was co-ordinated and run by Coaches from IQ Business, Just Plain Agile and Agile 42. I was then invited to attend the Scrum Master Academy 3.0 from August – November 2016 as an Assistant Coach, where I wrote and passed the CSM exam (Certified Scrum Master).
