I represented the university at open days and offer-holder events, and regularly lead campus tours for groups of up to 24 visitors. As part of “Widening Participation” programmes, I shared my perspective of university life with young people who may not traditionally progress to higher education, and participated in outreach activities. My roles included working at the Park & Ride, being on a Q&A panel for prospective students and representing Warwick at a UCAS fair for almost 200 insititutions.

  • Mathematics Tutor at Bishop Ullathorne Catholic School

I helped year 11 pupils who were struggling to attain their target grades for their Mathematics GCSE. In the classroom, I assisted pupils one-to-one with specific problems and I helped students to develop confidence in the subject by working through sample papers with them in small groups. I worked with other tutors to develop effective methods to help pupils tackle the most complex questions.

  • Mathematics Tutor at Magical Maths

I ran an afterschool maths programme for eight Key Stage 1 children, with themed sessions which made the subject fun and enhanced their confidence in maths. Following the programme’s structure, which runs in line with the National Curriculum, I adapted the activities in order to engage all of the pupils and suit their varying abilities.
