We photograph Writers. Writer Pictures Library is a small company focused on high quality portraits of people who write: authors to academics, poets to playwrights.... Writers in the broadest possible sense. We're not a faceless corporation. We are photographers, researchers and picture editors with 50 years experience in the business between us and we care equally about each and every image we handle. We license our material predominantly for the editorial market. Catering specifically to the needs of the writer, their publishers and publications that write about, interview, review the work of, or otherwise need a good literary portrait to publish. At present we hold a collection of some 300,000 portraits from around 200 contributing photographers and institutions. We're always looking to expand the library so if you're a photographer with just a few portraits or you represent a larger organisation please get in touch with us. With a large range of both contemporary photographs and historic illustrations, our archive enables you to take a look at writers stretching through the centuries. We do our best to keep our information as detailed as possible but if you have more information about any of the images in our collection then we would love to hear it.
