Jr. R&D Engineer with hands-on experience in rapid prototyping, CNC programming and operation, SolidWorks modeling, 3D printing, quality control, manufacturing, mechanical repair, and construction.
• Competently operate and transition between several models of Komo CNC routers • Cut a wide variety of parts including custom parts and backsides from various materials • Change and touch-off tooling as needed, and maintain tool offset records • Troubleshoot controller errors and work with programming and maintenance to keep routers operational
Assist customers in determining what tools and/or hardware are best suited to their particular needs Maintain a detailed level of product knowledge in both departments Re-key door locks for customers from all of the main brands sold at Lowes Cut plexiglass, glass, cable and chain, lumber, and electrical wire to length at the customer’s request Maintain a safe working environment through morning safety checks, proper use of PPE, and organization of top-stocked merchandise Work with coworkers as a team to provide in-stock product on the shelves Operate power equipment as needed to move larger product Retain sufficient product knowledge in nearby plumbing, electrical, and millwork departments in order to assist customers as needed
Assist main estimating team in calculating material estimates for various jobsites Visit various jobsites throughout the term to gain a better understanding of construction procedures Create a database to cross-reference previous material costs per unit with projected material costs to reduce overhead and waste in each estimate
Learn and obtain certifications regarding concrete, steel, and foundation bearing testing methods Travel to assigned construction sites with company vehicle to perform 3rd party construction testing in the above categories, all tests in accordance with industry standard test procedures Create and archive test specimens for data analysis Work with construction personnel to optimize testing with the least disturbance to workflow Work duration ended within 6 weeks due to COVID-19 and loss of work for the company
Duties Include: Draft work orders, change orders, purchase orders, and cost opinions as needed Upload, modify, track files, drawings and bid packages in Autodesk BIM360 Design a database to assist in matching and filing inspection tickets to corresponding permits, capable of handling several hundred rows of records Maintain updated progress photos of all main projects in Autodesk BIM360 Inspect all site activities for build compliance and safety compliance
