• Hydraulic design of Centrifugal pumps: all types of impellers, inducers, volutes, diffusers, inlet casings, etc. Pump hydraulic geometry optimization applying Computational Fluid Dynamics: - Geometry preparation by CAD, CFTurbo, ANSYS BladeModeler. - Meshing process using ANSYS Mesh, ANSYS TurboGrid, ANSYS ICEM CFD. - Pre-processing, post-processing in ANSYS CFX. • Mechanical and overall construction design of Centrifugal pumps: - Hydraulic forces calculations, bearings selection and lifetime calculation, basic strength analysis of main components, static and shaft sealing systems design and selection. - Mechanical design of pump components manufactured by various metal casting techniques, different machining methods, polymer molding and lining, sheet-metal forming, welding etc. - Large 3d-modeling experience (including complex surface modeling) using variety of CAD-systems. - Technical documentation and detailed manufacturing drawings creation (in accordance with ISO or ANSI) using Creo Parametric (ProEngineer), Solid Works, Solid Edge. • Design and Development (D&D) project Leading, cross functional project team and multi stream task coordination, mentoring and professional development of engineering personnel. • Extensive design experience and technical knowledge across a wide range of Centrifugal pump types and applications, including portable dewatering pumps (submersible drainage and sludge, self-priming diesel-driven), Oil&Gas industry pumps (API610, ESP, LNG), slurry pumps, clean-water pumps for domestic and industrial use, seawater pumps, leak-free canned-motor pumps, sewage pumps, etc. • Demonstrated experience in developing innovative engineering design concepts, translating them into functional prototypes, testing, problem solving and implementation. • Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, including a wide range of machining operations, various casting technologies, polymer molding and lining processes. • Centrifugal pump testing (performance, endurance, abrasive wear etc.) and test rigs development experience and knowledge. • Reverse engineering: dimensional measurement, 3d-scanning using FARO, scan data and point clouds processing using Geomagic software.
Hydraulic and mechanical design of dewatering submersible centrifugal and vortex pumps
• Leading and executing various Reverse Engineering Projects (Large slurry and API610 pumps): - Dimensional measurement, 3D-scanning of original components. - Analysis of OEM pump construction, functionality, mating fits, materials etc. - Reverse engineering of pump components, 3d-modeling, manufacturing drawings creation. - Manufacturing control; assembly and testing at Customer site. • Leading and executing various Pump Upgrade Projects, partial hydraulic and mechanical re-design. • Engineering support for Service Department: - Designing special service tools and documentation. - Pump root cause analysis. • Occasional Application Engineer role and activities: - Pump selection acc. to Customer`s RFQ. - Preparing technical and commercial proposals. - Technical support of Sales Department.
• The Special Engineering Team member focusing on Custom pump development, responsible for: - Hydraulic design and complex surface 3D-modeling. - CFD simulations and hydraulic performance optimization. - Mechanical and construction design of pump hydraulic elements. - Manufacturing drawings creation. • Notable accomplishments: - Inducer, Impeller and Diffuser hydraulic design for Cargo Submersible LNG Pump project. - Full hydraulic and a part of mechanical design for the series of Firefighting Submersible Pumps for an offshore platform. - Full hydraulic design for mixed-flow type Vertical Sea Water Circulation Pump, installed on the “Arktika” nuclear-powered icebreaker. - Full hydraulic design for two-stage axial-flow type Heeling Pump with reversible flow direction, installed on the “Arktika” nuclear-powered icebreaker. - Full hydraulic design of mixed-flow impeller type canned-motor Sea Water Circulation Pump.
• Junior member of experienced Engineering Team, learning and working on: - Mechanical design, 3d-modeling. - Manufacturing drawings creation. - Technical documentation creation. • Participating in several projects designing and testing multistage ESP (Electrical Submersible Pump) for crude oil extraction. • Participation in the design project of ESP Test Rig. • Studying CFD and pursuing self-directed learning, while conducting simulations and optimizing several existing ESP radial impellers and diffusers.
