Accounting operations are a vital part of a company’s immediate effectiveness and long-term success. As Controller, I manage a full-range of accounting functions such as payroll, AP/AR, internal controls, and audit administration. I drive business success and inform executive-level strategies by delivering insights via in-depth data analysis. My accounting acumen and advanced problem-solving skills allow me to maintain full compliance and data integrity while steering accounting processes through extensive organizational pivots, M&As, and system migrations. As Controller, I direct the strategy and full range of operations within an Accounting and Payroll department managing over $500M+ in gross revenue and serving 2,000+ employees across eight entities within US, UK, and Jamaica. I also lead eight US and four Jamaica-based accounting and payroll professionals and collaborate closely with cross-functional leadership on process improvement and cost reduction initiatives. • Ensure compliance with international government regulations and company standards. • Deliver consolidated financial statements and performance reports to company leadership; conduct flux analysis to determine drivers for significant increases/decreases. • Maintain general ledger accuracy and completeness through month-end closing activities. • Coordinate with outside auditors and steer internal resources to complete annual financial audits, 401(k) audits, workers’ compensation audits, and other lender/government-required audits. Key Projects/Achievements • Identified efficiency enhancement opportunity within AP; currently orchestrating implementation of new purchase order system to support continued organizational growth. • Designed and launched organizational/team structure capitalizing on individual team member strengths. • Headed financial processes and data integration during four acquisitions between 2020-2021. • Led partnership with consulting firms to create, define, and document accounting policies and procedures.
• Held full responsibility for all financial areas and functions during company’s rapid growth to $190M+ in annual revenue. • Collaborated closely with executive leadership on strategic direction of finance processes and accounting functions. • Built out accounting/payroll team, overseeing hiring, training, performance management, and daily supervision of four direct reports in US and Jamaica. • Managed monetary benefits (commissions/bonuses) and payroll for employees within seven US states and Jamaica. Key Projects/Achievements • Spearheaded company-wide implementation of enterprise HR system for 1.2K national/international employees; partnered with HR leader, representing payroll and financial divisions throughout process. • Led transition and integration of acquired company’s data into Centerfield’s ERP during 2017 M&A.
• Managed end-to-end accounting functions within start-up environment; reported directly to and worked closely with VP of Finance to establish accounting procedures. • Executed fully compliant payroll data entry and processing for 40 employees within three states. • Supported monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close; analyzed financial reports to identify data discrepancies and execute corrective measures. • Performed Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes, including invoice processes, delinquent account collections, and cash. • Streamlined payment processing system by initiating change from paper checks to ACH.
