Alex is the Technical Director - Geothermal & Process for Jacobs APAC, leading a regional technical practice across Australia, New Zealand, and South East Asia. With over 30 years of international chemical and mechanical engineering experience, involved in geothermal project development for over 20 years, with projects in Indonesia, Philippines, Kenya and Latin America. He has a good understanding of renewable energy technologies, project development pathways and challenges. Experience includes leading a range of due diligence, valuation and feasibility studies, and several major Owner’s Engineering roles. He led the Jacobs Indonesia business as Country Manager/Director for twelve years with full operational and P&L responsibility and developing and leading several key client relationships in both the power and industrial sectors. Subsequently he was Director of Operations for the Jacobs New Zealand Power business for four years.

Thirty years industry experience, in a range of operational management, governance, project and technical leadership roles. Senior professional with experience of operational leadership, sales and technical leadership roles covering power, energy, oil and gas, and industrial sectors. 30 years experience across a wide range of markets covering renewable energy (primarily geothermal power), thermal power, oil and gas production, and process industries. Business unit and operational leadership roles with people leadership and P&L responsibility. Sales roles, including Client Account Management roles with multi-sector, multi geography portfolios. Technical leadership role covering APAC region (350 -400 employees). Successfully completed a wide range international assignments: feasibility studies, technical due diligence, project development, owner's engineering, design and project management.
