I am an enthusiastic bio-engineer, with especially interest in neuroscience, medical sensing and imaging technology. Moreover I have an interest in machine learning and how this can be used to improve the access of people to easier, less painful and faster diagnostic procedures and how it can lead to early detection of life threatening diseases such as cancer, neuro-degenerative diseases and cardio-vascular diseases. Development of a learning based multi modal classifier for the early detection of oesophageal cancer and analysing the feasibility of automatic classifiers for the optoacoustic imaging of breast cancer.
Helping high school students with their applications for foreign universities and assisting with their learning of physics and mathematics principles.
Placement involved working on responsive materials for bio-medical sciences with applications in biotechnology. The work involved experimental lab work and programming, as well as product design. The main areas covered were signal processing and materials technology.
Examined the accuracy of the technical drawings depicting the factory, assisted in the development of a new production line for a new type of cement and helped with the creation of the cost sheets for the month.
