Alexandre Alcobia Gomes is a Portuguese professional born on 11 April 1968, with extensive experience in finance. He holds an MBA in International Management from the Portuguese Catholic University and a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from ISCTE, Portugal. His career includes various leadership roles such as Country CFO for Novartis in Mexico, South Africa, and Norway, Pharma Division CFO for Greater China, and positions in financial controlling, treasury, and accounting within the Novartis and Sandoz Groups. Over the last 15 years, he led the establishment of the end-to-end processes framework for the finance function and led several technology led transformations. Additionally, he has been involved in training and mentoring young finance professionals, including guest speaking at Harvard Business School and coaching at Novartis Finance College. He is fluent in Portuguese, English, and Spanish, with basic French skills.
