Conducting research for a John H. Daniels publication, Barry Sampson: Teaching + Practice, under the supervision of Nene Brode. Responsibilities include sourcing images for book production, organizing and documenting collected text and images, obtaining copyright permissions, assisting with administrative tasks related to production, and other related research.
Mass timber publication for Fall 2019 studio Places of Production: Forest and Factory with Brigitte Shim and Robert Wright. In partnership with Canadian Wood Council and woodSMART program to create framework for educational and other institutions conducting similar studios across Canada. Responsibilities include content curation, writing, InDesign formatting, graphic content creation, and soliciting professionals in design and timber industries for article contributions.
In-museum scientist for The Life of a Dead Tree exhibition by artist Mark Dion. Designed and executed a case-study on the ecology of the dead white ash tree on exhibit. Created and presented weekly educational talks on invasive species and forest fungi. Foreperson for communicating artist’s intent and invasive species topics to the public.
Worked on over 17 projects in different design phases including concept proposal, digital and hand renderings, AutoCAD details, and California planting palettes, all in imperial units. Applied resilient design strategies for erosion prevention, water-use mitigation, fire-resistance, and maintenance learned from attending site visits at various stages of completion. Organized the first ever collage social event at Irvine Design Group.
