I have over a decade worth of experience working in Government, Media, Education and NFP sectors. I received a BA Honours in Communications (Social Inquiry) from the University of Technology Sydney in 2012 writing a thesis on the lives of women in Romania under Communism. My professional experience includes positions with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and Australian Human Rights Commission. I was Radio Producer and Content Creator for ‘Mornings with Kelly Fuller’ on ABC England North West and also produced content on the ABC’s ‘New South Wales Country Hour’. Other experience includes Executive and Research Assistant for the late Age and Disability Discrimination Commissioner (Susan Ryan, AO) and a brief stint as policy officer for former President of the Australian Human Rights Commission, Gillian Triggs. I also served as Executive Assistant to the Director of Macquarie Park Innovation District (MPID), Executive Director of Corporate Engagement and Director of Incubation and Entrepreneurship. In these roles, she was instrumental in the development of the Macquarie Park Innovation District’s (MPID) Summit and Macquarie University’s Pitch at the Palace Competition; including speaking on stage in front of British Royalty. In the last few months at Macquarie University, prior to becoming disabled by surgeries and treatments for chronic illness - I managed the Office of Corporate Engagement, running events and assisting directors meeting with companies on campus i.e Google, Pfizer, Astra Zeneca and Optus Singtel. From October 2021, I was Advisory Board Member for Communications and Relations for an endometriosis non profit organisation called Extrapelvic Not Rare(501c3). Due to my diagnosis of Extrapelvic and Deep Infiltrating Endometriosis I brought professional experience and personal perspective of life with endometriosis. I spearheaded the development of the EPNR Volunteer Program and provided video direction and editing of an EPNR presentation for the 2022 Endometriosis Summit, fundraising, and marketing across social media platforms. I recently contributed historical critiques of Australia and Romania’s standards of healthcare in ‘Good Girl, Bad Period: Breaking the Silence on Misogyny and Gaslighting Through the Lens of Endometriosis’ by Silvia Young available now on Amazon (kindle & hard copy) I currently run educational support groups for endometriosis in the Endo Circle. I also run one-on-one endo sister support sessions.
-Providing admin and secretarial support to Director of Corporate Engagement, Director of Incubation and Entrepreneurship and Executive Director Corporate Engagement including all office and diary management activities. -Preparing agendas, minutes, reports and presentations. -Building and managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders of the Corporate Engagement Team.
