I'm a Transmission Line Engineer dedicated to designing and maintaining the high-voltage power systems that form the backbone of our energy grid. My work centers on the design and construction of overhead lines, ensuring that critical infrastructure remains reliable and resilient. I enjoy solving the complex engineering challenges required to modernize the grid and support the transition toward a more sustainable energy future.
Design and support overhead transmission line projects through preparation of engineering calculations, drawings, and technical documentation. Apply applicable design standards, codes, and internal design guides to support structural and transmission system layouts. Perform engineering analysis related to transmission line structures, foundations, and materials; support equipment and material selection through technical research. Manage and interpret engineering data to ensure design accuracy and constructability. Coordinate with project managers, senior engineers, and multidisciplinary teams to meet scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements. Support issue resolution within assigned scope and contribute to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing efforts. Mentor and support entry-level engineers and interns as needed while staying current with transmission line design tools, codes, and industry practices.
Designing transmission line infrastructure, creating construction books, ordering material, and communicating with clients to deliver a personal and attentive experience that works for them and is safe, effective, and efficient.
Assisted PEs and EITs in writing contracts and planning job packages. Improved and organized established communication engineering and maintenance processes. Documented processes for posterity and established systems for others to do similarly.
Designed 60+ UI/UX screens in Figma as well as the company website and led a team of four developers and project budgets of $27,000 across development and branding an AI-centric personal finance app. Designed all event pitch decks, created brand assets and messaging, grew community to 200+ members and beta users, spoke at events to audiences of over 500, received crash courses on topics ranging from accounting to law. Raised $46,000 in seed capital and cash prizes, and over $60,000 of in-kind prizes through the Stumberg Venture Competition, participated in SA Startup Week, One, officed at Geekdom’s Startup Ally.
Created Project Diagrams (PDs) and optimized cross-regional engineering communications by conducting interviews and research to bolster project submissions and transparency. Conducted on-site inspections of poles for reliability concerns. Engaged in Employee Resource Groups and began preparation for Engineer in Training (EIT) certification. Led and organized an intern service project, mobilizing over 30 peers to support community outreach initiatives.
