Alexander founded ALEFRA to advise clients on commercial real estate matters and commercial real estate acquisitions. Before ALEFRA, Alexander co-founded and led REC, a national acquisition-side commercial real estate brokerage, for 14 years. Alexander brings a legal background to commercial real estate and has regularly represented large corporations, real estate developers and families to develop winning real estate strategies. He is regularly sought out by legal, banking and accounting institutions for his expertise on commercial real estate matters and is a regular contributor to various commercial real estate publications.
ALEFRA manages the alternative investments for a U.S.-based family and offers other investors, developers, companies and non-profit organizations commercial real estate advisory services and acquisition-side commercial real estate brokerage services.
Alexander moved to Denver in late 2011 to co-found REC, a commercial real estate brokerage representing buyers and tenants. By representing acquisitions only, REC eliminated the conflict of interest inherent in full-service commercial real estate firms and offered businesses, non-profit organizations, investors, family offices and developers a platform to find the real estate they wanted and to be their zealous advocate throughout the acquisition process. REC became a firm with national reach and eventually staffed nine lawyers who applied their legal backgrounds to commercial real estate brokerage. In concert with the retirement of Alexander's co-founder, REC closed in December 2025.
