I engage in research with Indigenous Peoples and their connections to fish and water. In September 2021, I will be embarking on a PhD of Oceans and Fisheries at the University of British Columbia in the Centre for Indigenous Fisheries.

Projects under this title include include: Indigenous ecological knowledge mapping interviews, acoustic telemetry, whitefish larval assessment, indicator monitoring and index netting, shoal and habitat assessment, and sampling. Collaborate on other research initiatives including Bima'azh, stocking review with the provincial government, and a GLFC-funded project on interactions between lake trout and lake whitefish.

      Oversee a community-based research project on traditional and local knowledge regarding a group of fish known as ciscoes. This potion involved interviewing key community members from the Saugeen Ojibway Nation. Interviews were semi-structured and utilized a temporal water-use mapping component. Sampling efforts were conducted in Lake Huron based on the information gathered in the interviews. I have presented this project at the following events: The Wildlife Society and American Fisheries Society First Joint Annual Conference 2019 (Reno, NV) and The International Association of Great Lakes Research State of Lake Huron Conference 2019 (Saginaw, MI).
