Dr. Strachan has more than 25 years of clinical experience as a practicing emergency and urgent care physician, internist and hospitalist. He is a skilled and seasoned physician executive driven by a passion for learning and execution. As a multi-layered and multi-dimensional professional with a skill set developed over his career in healthcare consulting, outsourced staffing enterprises and payor provider relations, Dr. Strachan brings a wealth of experience to his role as CMO of Cinqcare Northeast. Dr. Strachan is recognized for his ability to bring clarity to existing opportunities and business potential and has a demonstrated ability to attract, focus, mobilize and lead the right talent. His experience allows him to credibly engage all functional silos within an organization and create the conditions of productive strategic dialogue, thereby leveraging high levels of physician engagement to achieve superior execution.

Provided strategic change management leadership to achieve high levels of physician engagement and effectuate a business turnaround. Responsible for a $31 million P&L consisting of 20 practice locations (15 acute, 5 sub-acute). Recruit, train, mentor, and manage a clinical staff of three Regional Medical Directors, Float Team Director, 12 Medical Directors of Hospital Medicine, with oversight over 122 clinical staff. Non-clinical staff included Director of HM Operations, three Managers of Hospital Medicine Operations, and one Site Administrator and Billing Coordinator for each site (dotted-line).
Effective June of 2015, Alexander Strachan, Jr., MD, MBA was named Chief Medical Officer of EmCare Hospital Medicine, Dr. Strachan was responsible on a national scale for the overall operations of 200+ clinical programs impacting Emcare's hospitalists, and led the organizations physician engagement efforts for the hospital medicine service line. He also led a focused team of EmCare hospitalist leaders to improve process and gain operational efficiencies for EmCare’s valued HM partners.
Through the acquisition of EMA, he joined EmCare as Executive Vice President of the new EmCare Partners Group (EPG) in 2015, where he had P&L and management responsibility for over 100 providers and all of the division’s inpatient services, as well as 6 urgent care locations.
