Hello, my name is Alex and I am a mechanical engineer graduate with superior analytical and problem solving skills seeking a challenging and rewarding opportunity in the engineering field. I graduated from Clemson University with a mechanical engineering degree (BSME) and a 3.58/4.00 GPA. While in school I developed a strong engineering skill set as well as leadership, time management, and teamwork skills. Major achievements include completing a co-oping program at Bridgestone, leading a concept feasibility creative inquiry in partnership with TTI, completing an honors research thesis on thermoelectric generation, and completing a senior project in partnership with GE.
Worked as a mechanical engineering intern in the mixing department at the Bridgestone PSR/LTR manufacturing plant in Aiken, SC. Responsibilities included providing engineering support to the department as we completed a $30 million expansion that increased to mixing production capability by roughly 50%. Gained proficiency with modeling and creating drawing packages for fabrication; reading and interpreting building schematics including hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical drawings; and writing bid packages and scopes of work for contracted work. Working with multiple contracting firms I gained valuable experience in communication skills, team driven projects, and project management.
