I am a freshman at Mercer University majoring in Biology on the Pre-Med track. I attended Woodland High School, graduating as valedictorian and completed online dual enrollment courses at Georgia State University. As an aspiring future healthcare professional, I am driven toward building meaningful connections, gaining knowledge about problem-solving, leadership, and communications, and gaining experiences to develop my career as a healthcare provider to help others in need and giving back to the community. In my local community, I have been able to obtain real experience in a medical facility. Through a job shadowing program, I was able to participate in going to a pediatric clinic as well as hospitals such as Piedmont Hospital where I observed specialists and nurses perform tasks and activities involved in patient care. Developing as an individual through both personal growth and professional improvement, I am constantly looking for opportunities where I can gain more experience and understanding. I am excited and look forward to connecting with other peers and colleagues.
At Southern Crescent Pediatrics, I gain invaluable knowledge about the medical field as I get to experience a professional medical environment. In this facility, I shadow the nurses and observe what tasks they must complete as they care for patients who are primarily children and adolescents.
At Pleasant Grove Elementary School, I was an instructor at the After School Enrichment Program. I worked closely with elementary school students helping them with homework, supervising, and facilitating activities.
