Teaching kids how to play different instruments was easily the most challenging and rewarding job I've done. During 1 on 1 lessons, I tried to teach my students basic music theory (note names, chords, scales) in a way that was tailored to their needs, while also teaching them the songs they needed to learn for their band performances. During full band practices, my responsibilities included leading rehearsals, teaching or creating new parts for the kids to play, creating song selections, and stopping misbehavior. During concerts, I would hop on stage and guide the bands through their songs.
