I am currently working as a Tier 2 Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst. I was very quickly promoted to this position in just 80 days of starting with DefendEdge LLC. This position has lead me to a lot of new skills and learning experiences that you can't find with any other tasks, jobs, etc.. I have gained many valuable skills and hands on training in live environments across many platforms including (but not limited to); SiEM, SiON, FAZ, O365/Entra ID, and FortiGate management. With my past experience, I am interested in expanding my career by pursuing a profession of Information Technology security and SOC Analysis in a DOD contracting capacity.
Tier 2 Security Operation Center (SOC) analyst for DefendEdge
I was the Communications Chief for A Battery, 3d Low Altitude Air Defense Battalion, USMC. I am a radio operator (MOS 0621), by trade. Just two weeks after promoting to Corporal (E4), my continuous display of job proficiency and professionalism, bestowed me the opportunity to enlist the occupation of Communications Chief (MOS 0629 unofficial); despite Communications Chief being a job title fitted for a Staff Sergeant (E-6). During this time I honed my skills in the areas of; inter-agency coordination and planning, mentorship, programing and troubleshooting computers/electronic communications equipment, and project management. Also during this time, I have been awarded three Navy and Marine Corps achievement medals, one for my proficiency as Communications Chief and the other for for using my subject matter expertise to implement a new radio waveform for integration into a software application organic to my home unit.
