Alex is passionate about clean energy and climate transitions across the economy, currently working to value and procure grid-scale renewables and energy storage at Southern California Edison. He aims to help create positive impact at the intersection of economics, climate policy, and science, and is always excited to grow his analytical, communication, and creativity skillset to do so. Delivered diverse consulting projects as part of a small team. Projects included a report on the current state of the U.S. forestry carbon offset market and a report to help refine environmental education program offerings.
Supported the founder and CEO with industry research. Penned reports on data center environmental costs, potential partners in renewable energy, and data center trends. Analyzed regulatory markets to find potential business opportunities. Helped to manage a corporate video project and leapt on anything else the CEO needed.
Air Quality analyst on the Natural Sciences team; work included research about air pollution and its adverse health effects, methods of pollution remediation, and the natural and social factors that affect air quality. Contributed to research and analysis of 60 sets of raw PurpleAir air sensor data towards a scientific report on air quality and its effects in the San Gabriel Valley, especially as it relates to time of day, time of year, and social factors. Designed and produced air quality curriculum for middle school classes.
Created, implemented, and refined stringent COVID procedures for checking in and out more than two hundred middle-school-aged camp students. Stepped up to fill a larger administrative role when the Assistant Director of the camp unexpectedly withdrew and thrived under pressure. Resolved interpersonal conflicts, procured supplies, provided help and guidance to teachers and counselors, and engaged with students. When not in the admin office, I fostered growth in teamwork and social skills by coaching the athletics portion of the camp.
