I completed my placement year at MTCE working in the vehicle systems department. I used Siemens NX to design automotive components for 2 separate low volume hypercar projects. I created technical drawings using GD&T to ASME and multimatic drawing standards. I spent 3 weeks in the machine shop, gaining an understanding of the machining process and how to design parts to reduce machining time and cost. I also spent 3 weeks in the test department helping the engineers with damper testing and running my own NVH damper tests.
This was a part time job I worked alongside my studies at University. I operated the bureau de change, setup interest free agreements and dealt with John Lewis credit card queries.
