I am a seasoned Energy Project Developer with 25+ years of experience in advancing power infrastructure projects across their development cycle to become investable propositions. My expertise spans thermal renewable technologies such as combustion and gasification systems, as well as pure renewable technologies including hydro and wind. Combining commercial acumen and engineering expertise, I specialize in developing projects that contribute to a sustainable and low-carbon energy future. Key Achievements: Carbon Capture Leadership: Led a consortium bid securing a £5.2M government grant to investigate carbon capture technology at a 22 MW biomass gasification plant, providing critical insights into Net Zero frameworks and CCS technology. Greenhouse Gas Removals Initiatives: Pioneered Evero’s GGR efforts, advancing carbon capture & storage (CCS) technology selection, government funding applications, and voluntary carbon market offtake opportunities. Successful Exit Strategies: Delivered shareholder value by selling a majority stake in a consented energy-from-waste development, achieving positive financial returns. Major Contract Negotiations: Secured EPC contracts exceeding £200M for energy-from-waste projects incorporating gasification technology, gaining insights into pricing and contract management strategies. Power Trading Excellence: Built and led a team driving power trading revenues of £100M+ for a leading renewable power generator, fostering a high-performing team culture. Innovative Renewable Contracts: Originated and closed low-carbon power contracts in UK wholesale markets, achieving NPV margins of £4M+ and gaining early experience in renewable PPAs. Policy Leadership: Served as a Policy Board Member at the Renewable Energy Association, championing policies for bioenergy and renewable power through strategic leadership of industry groups.

Evero’s foundations are in converting waste into energy. Our waste-to-electricity, UK-based plants have a total capacity of 145MW. We divert around 1 million tonnes of waste from landfill every year and use it to generate energy. Half of our plants use gasification, a notoriously complex technology. We want to use our expertise in gasification technology to go further, so we are exploring options for using this knowledge to displace high carbon fossil fuels, as well as fossil chemicals and plastics feedstocks, with greener alternatives, such as green methanol or Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). There is a future where we can make our world work better. We just need to have the imagination to unlock it, and the knowledge to do so. Reporting the Chief Commercial Officer and member of the Executive Leadership, responsibilities include developing project pipeline of investable projects covering carbon capture and low carbon fuels.
