I'm an engineer that loves manufacturing! Taking a product from design through fabrication is my specialty. I have extensive experience in programming and operating multi-axis CNC mills and lathes. I gained this experience through manufacturing parts for multiple SAE competition vehicles, machining tooling for injection mold machines, and running a production machine shop. Hand in hand with my manufacturing experience is my CAD experience. I've designed tooling for injection molding and ran mold flow simulations to verify my designs. I've also created drawings with the required GD&T for internal and external use. Second to my love of manufacturing is my love for teaching. Whether it's a class of students or fellow co-workers I am passionate about sharing my experience with others. I believe that we are all life long learners and there is always something new that can be brought to the table. I take pride in my quality of work and strive to create a positive work environment for my co-workers.
· Integrated UR robots with Haas mills to automate milling production · Designed and manufactured sheet metal components for consumer products and internal fixturing · Wrote production programs for Trumpf laser/punch combo, Trumpf bender, and IPG lasercube · Improved upon previous programs to reduce cycle times and material consumption
· Ran a production shop i.e. sourcing, programming, fixturing, operating, customer outreach, scheduling job priorities, drawings, and overseeing inspection process of each job · Created parts for 4-Axis machining, as well as programming and job set-up for a 4th axis CNC · Trained and oversaw employees running jobs, fabrication, inspection, programming, and assembly · Worked with a client to develop a product and bring it to market, supporting in all RND engineering aspects: Design and prototyping stages, as well as manufacturing and fabrication once the design was finalized · Prototyping on both FDM 3D printers and SLA resin 3D printers · Created a training program for the basics of CNC shop skills and GD&T · This included creating videos, curriculum, face to face skills labs, and online testing · 40 students went through the course and 100% achieved a NIMS certificate for Measurements Materials and Safety, 25 students continued to a second level to receive the NIMS CNC Mill Operations certificate
· Assisted students and researchers with designing components for manufacturing · Trained new employees and students with manual machines (lathe, mill, horizontal bandsaw, vertical bandsaw, sander, chop saw, surface grinder), CNC machines (HAAS Mill, HASS Lathe), and a FARO Arm CMM · Created a new manufacturing course and curriculum that taught UCF students how to create a manufacturing plan for machining a part from a drawing, and how to use the machines listed above to make the parts
· Machined parts for five Baja vehicles – a one seater, off-road race car for SAE international competitions, and three Formula vehicles – a one seater, on road race car for SAE international competitions. · Designed and manufactured equipment required for rigid setups for both manual machines, CNC machines, and welding · Taught SAE members mill, lathe, and CNC operations, various setup techniques, CAD, CAM, and programming skills. · Taught members how to create a manufacturing plan for complex multi-part assembly designs.
