In house study-research program on Palaeo-Meso Proterozoic terranes; host to a large proportion of global Au, U, Basemetals & Ni resources. Principal results and observations included: • Correlation of global multiple, coeval cycles of mantle-plume (LIP’s) activity & related Proterozoic tectono-stratigraphic sequences • New tectonic model proposed for the transient magmatic (m-type) and amagmatic (p-type, ie pull-apart) ophiolite complexes in Palaeoproterozoic : proto-plate tectonics • Definition palaeo-continental margin volcano-sedimentary hyper-extended rift basins (HERBs); Iberian Pyrite Belt and Broken Hill-Olary type basins • Definition of both domal (Shuswap type) & bivergent (Vosges type) metamorphic core complexes of Hi-Temp – Lo Press type, associated with metasomatic/hydrothermal ore systems of U, & Cu-Au • Deep geophysical (seismic, magneto-telluric) evidence of widespread mid-crustal fluid reservoirs (Kola type hydrothermal hypersaline brines); implicated in IOCG, Cu-Au & U (metasomatic & unconformity types) mineralisation • Identified distinctive, sequential tectono-stratigraphic cycles in genesis of IOGC, Metasomatic/Hydrothermal Cu-Au & U, 5 Element Co, Ni, As, Bi, Ag +/- U & Unconformity type U deposits • Distinguished a unique Early Palaeoproterozic Sandstone type U-Cu-Magnetite mineralisation & reclassified U/C-Unconformity Proximal types U systems based on litho-hydro dynamic parameters • Consanguinity between Dahongshan IOCG & Yinmen/Dongchuan disseminated He-Cu & cryptalgal dolostone/mudstone Cu +/- Au, Co, Ag type deposits; including analogues in Mt Isa and Paterson Range provinces. The study showed consistent & coherent patterns of tectonostratigraphic development & associated metallogenesis; particularly for VSMS, Volcanic and Metasomatic IOCG's / Cu-Au & U & U/C - Unconformity Proximal type U systems & Magmatic Ni-Cu deposits.
