I’ve been building software in one form or another since I was 16. I started with PERL and HTML, fell in love with PHP and Java in college, and eventually grew into a full‑stack developer who enjoys connecting systems end‑to‑end — database → mobile → web → back to database. After 20+ years in the field, that passion hasn’t changed. Today I work as a full‑stack developer at RGC Data, specializing in bridging FileMaker with the modern web through the FileMaker Data API. I build solutions that utilize Git and combine PHP, React, Go, mobile frameworks, SQL/FileMaker backends, and AI‑driven automation to create seamless, reliable workflows for clients. Most of my integrations communicate through JSON, though I’m also experienced with XML when legacy systems require it. I’m actively involved in developing and fine‑tuning AI models, adding custom skillsets, and integrating AI into the development environment in practical, developer‑first ways. I’m not a fan of “vibe coding” or the idea that AI replaces developers. I believe developers still play a critical role in architecture, problem‑solving, and building systems that last. AI is a tool — a powerful one — but craftsmanship still matters. Outside of client work, I’m the author of a fitness app that’s nearing free release, and I’m constantly experimenting with new ways to streamline full‑stack pipelines. I’m especially interested in architectures where FileMaker or SQL backends sync cleanly with web and mobile front ends. Our small team at RGC Data has contributed to the FileMaker community by releasing free plugins, snippets, and templates that help developers integrate FileMaker with WordPress and other web platforms. We’ve built full e‑commerce systems powered by FileMaker, customer portals, invoicing and payment solutions, and native mobile apps — including Android‑friendly solutions that don’t require FileMaker Go. Outside of work, I’m a dad, a guitarist, and a Kentuckian. I live in Bowling Green with my daughter and a husky who still believes fences are optional. We just added a Pomeranian puppy, prayers are welcome ;)
