At Rethink Mental Illness I work with the Serious Mental Illness(SMI) Community & Outreach Team to deliver key aspects of the trailblazing peer-led SMI programme, such as reaching and connecting with people 'left behind'. I deliver monthly training sessions built upon my lived experience on Serious Mental Illness engagement and quarterly training sessions on Co-Production and Imposter Syndrome. I have experience managing and supervising volunteers as I currently run a team of Peer Mentors, and I have experience supporting a team of strategic Expert by Experience Leaders. I hold a Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Computer Science from Somerset College of Arts and Technology.
As Senior Project Officer, I lead on the Peer Connections team made up of lived experience Peer Mentors. -I manage this team, provider support, guidance and mentorship to peers with lived experience to help them achieve their full potential -I work alongside the team to deliver bespoke 1:1 peer support to various individuals across Somerset. -I continue to be the lead facilitator in well-recieved, lived-experience led training sessions on Serious Mental Illness engagement to over 150 individuals in Somerset.
• Leads a team of 12 Peer Mentors to provide person-centered peer support to clients in the Peer Connections team. • Works in SMI Community and Outreach Team to support the navigators in their role of delivering wellbeing support, improving uptake of Annual Physical Health checks and combating stigma around Serious Mental Illness. • Works directly with individuals across Somerset seeking support. • Delivered well-recieved, lived-experience led training sessions on Serious Mental Illness engagement to over 150 individuals in Somerset.
• Facilitated Co-Production initiatives with Open Mental Health to empower Expert by Experience Leaders. • Educated and informed team members on best practices for nurturing Co-Production. • Collaborated with Rethink Mental Illness to drive innovation in mental health support services.
