Conduct one-on-one assessments with employees at their workstations, report write-ups detailing the assessment along with any recommendations necessary, and education for the employee regarding relevant ergonomic concepts. Walkthrough and group assessments wherein education is given to a small number of employees and QA sessions. Continuous, ongoing support for employees and managers was also required, via e-mail and phone.
looked at the integration of the musculoskeletal system with the nervous system, and their interactions, as well as the changes that can occur in various conditions (such as aging) KIN 427: Low Back Disorders with Dr. Stuart McGill. Examined the anatomy of the low back, and discussed the biomechanics of before, during and after injury; we also discussed rehabilitation techniques for various populations including elderly, elite athletes, and the average back. KIN 301: Anatomy of the Central Nervous System - looked at the structure of the CNS, and the changes that occur within it during aging and disease KIN 357: Motor learning, with Dr. Aimee Nelson - looked at the neural structures involved in motor learning, and the process of learning during development and re-learning post-injury Basic Data Entry and management tasks during Biomechanics labs (KIN 121 and 221) Updating Resource Centre Patron and facility booking Database; basic Data Entry tasks at the Turnkey Desk; Worked as a part of a team of Certified Kinesiologists in a rehabilitation clinic, prescribing rehabilitative exercises to patients with a variety of injuries and conditions, along with administering ultrasounds, electrotherapy, heat and cold therapy. Patients treated were mostly MVA and WSIB, but included private claims as well.
Managed shifts in a 24-hour community resource centre and real-time ticketing terminal, using research expertise to solve unique problems, in addition to maintaining client and patron database, facilities bookings, and relationship management with external vendors and community groups. Was constantly able to apply good judgment in unique and sometimes critical situations.
