Senior financial and administrative position in the Center for Comparative Medicine (CCM) within the Office for Research. Provide leadership to develop strategic administrative initiatives that meet the mission within regulated unit. Oversee the management of all operational, financial, procurement, receiving and census (PRC) and business functions in support of CCM’s mission. Coordinate with central offices such as HR, Budget, Facilities, IT, and Provost. Work collaboratively with school-level administrative management. Represent CCM on internal and external business affairs.
Manage administrative, financial, and operational activities within the pediatric clinical practice and related hospital functions for the sections of Allergy and Immunology, Chronic Diseases, Gastroenterology, Hematology/Oncology, Pulmonary Medicine and Sleep Medicine. Plan, organize, and direct activities that support sections' clinical, educational, and research missions. Provide administrative leadership to the executive team, medical faculty, and staff in formulating and implementing department objectives. Monitor and report on operational trends. Manage personnel to ensure that all activities are carried out consistent with personnel policies. Responsible for daily administrative aspects of the department's clinical operations, budgets, finances, strategic planning, marketing, public relations, contracts, and other activities related to the pediatric enterprise.
Top administrative officer for the department reporting to the Department’s Chair responsible for the day-to-day administrative operations of the department. Responsible for implementation of the Chair's initiatives and all aspects of executive direction of the department (finance and budget, sponsored program pre- and post award, academic affairs, human resources, facilities), coordination and management of relationships with central University offices including University Research Administration, Legal Counsel, Financial Services and Human Resources; the utilization of physical plant resources including laboratory and office space and renovations; and the appointment, reappointment and promotion processes for faculty. Supervise a staff of four exempt employees.
Responsible for the financial management of the University’s employee benefit plans budget. Oversaw the Compensation Department and Employee Records Administration functions. Made personnel decisions regarding sharing of duties, workflow, performance management, professional development, staffing, and compensation. Department’s project manager for the redesign of the department’s website presence in collaboration with central IT, communications and consultants. Responsible for the implementation of document management solutions, OnBase by Hyland Software, to meet several objectives including reduction of paper files and improvement of documentation retention. In collaboration with Payroll and central IT, oversaw the implementation of Employee Self Service for payroll and human resources data.
