- Development and optimization of melting and casting processes for multi-phase and high-temperature alloys. - Melting of high-purity raw materials such as Al, Co, Cr, Fe, Ni, Ti, C, Mo. - Alloy processing by cold and hot rolling, and swaging. - Heat treatments and analysis of ageing behavior . - Extensive microstructure studies such as phase identification, volume fractions, grain size or component thickness measurements, texture analysis, plastic deformation and recrystallization effects using light and electron microscopes. - Crystal structure and chemical analyses of alloys using XRD and EDX. - Mechanical testing and analysis of hardness, tensile and compression tests, thermal shocks and damage analysis of fracture and wear surfaces. - Thermodynamic calculations to predict stable phases, volume fractions and precipitation temperatures. - Documentation, presentation, and peer-reviewed publication of results. - Literature research and supervision of master's and semester thesis. - Organizing research projects by planning, coordinating results and supporting the project partners. - Cooperation with industry partners, research and academic institutions.
