Dr. med. Alessio Chiappini is a Swiss Board Certified Neurosurgeon with a subspecialty in interdisciplinary spine surgery. Born and raised in Ticino, the Italian-speaking region of Switzerland, he completed his medical studies between Fribourg and Basel, graduating in 2016. He began his neurosurgical training at the Institute of Clinical Neurosciences of Southern Switzerland (EOC Lugano) and completed his residency at the University Hospital of Basel in 2022. During his residency, he earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD) in 2021. After the postgraduate qualification as specialist in neurosurgery, he achieved the certificate of postgraduate subspecialty in interdisciplinary spine surgery in 2025. With a solid foundation in both clinical practice and academic field, Dr. Chiappini is dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centered neurosurgical care, with a particular focus on spinal neurosurgery. He is also actively involved in national societies, contributing to the education and training of the next generation of surgeons.
