I am ambitious, open-minded and hard-working, always looking for new challenges and experiences to grow personally and professionally and to enhance self-development. I have been working for Nike INC for more than ten years, for the seven past years as a Sustainability Manager. As such, I am responsible of social compliance, health and safety and environment across Nike factories in Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA). My mission: to create a more sustainable and a safer working environment and to guarantee better working conditions for all employees in the industry. Stakeholder engagement and partnership management is also part of my daily tasks. I am an avid traveler (both for work and pleasure), writer and communicator, I speak fluently four languages and I always strive for continuous self improvement and new situations to measure myself against.
Responsible for all compliance related projects and activities in the EMEA region (about 50 factories/ 20 countries), including making sure that Nike Code Leadership Standards (CLS) are implemented, managing audits, consulting partners for compliance initiatives, training partners for CLS and conducting audits. Supporting global teams and leadership teams on developing sustainability strategy and ensuring effective strategy deployment for partners in EMEA. Ensuring positive stakeholder relations and managing partnerships and relations with third parties. Developing both Nike and partner teams capabilities with sustainability training programs. Certified SLCP trainer.
At Nike, I am primarily responsible of performing compliance (labor & HSE) audits at Nike factories in more than 15 countries in EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) region, as well as of consulting factories in relation to labor or HSE issues. For this purpose, I also often collaborate with factory representatives, international organizations representatives (FLA & BW) and other stakeholders. I also contribute in preparing training decks, delivering trainings to factories, organizing meetings and reviewing SOPs. I am also an approved SAC (Sustainable Apparel Coalition) verifier certified to conduct verifications under SLCP (Social Labor Convergence) program. I do hold a Fire Safety Facilitator certificate from FLA and a Lean 2.0 one.
My tasks in Hayata Destek included assisting in the creation of annual reports and newsletters on organizational work and in the preparation of packages for donors and stakeholders. I also helped developing PR, communication & fundraising strategies in relation to humanitarian projects. Moreover, I wrote project-related proposals, in-progress and final reports also as based on log-frames. I also performed qualitative research and attended a humanitarian core standards training and a security one.
In UNHCR, I was acting as a liason between the organization and donors by representing the UNHCR publicly. I also fundraised money for UNHCR projects through creating awareness on and advocating the UNHCR mission & persuaded people to adhere to projects through regular donations.
At Meta-culture, I gained skills in conflict management & resolution, mediation, negotiation, and diplomacy. I participated as an observer to negotiations of different nature (inter-religious, corporate and civil society, etc) and as a full participant to conflict management and negotiation trainings. I also collaborated to diversified projects through researching, contacting clients, etc.
