The Amgen Scholars Program is a highly prestigious and competitive program (4.4% acceptance rate) that provides opportunities for young scientists to conduct hands-on research at leading institutions worldwide. I worked for 10 weeks in the research group of Prof. Dr. Olivier Gires at the LMU Klinikum. My project focused on EpCAM regulation in embryonic stem cell differentiation. At the end of my experience, I had the opportunity to present my work at the final symposium organised by Cambridge University.
I worked in Professor Giorgio Scita's laboratory. I took part in a program on Mechanisms of Tumour Cell Migration. My project aimed at clarifying the molecular mechanism underlying the reawakening of epithelial cells’ migratory capacities in the experimental model of ductal carcinoma in situ.
