Assisting surgeons during surgical procedures such as FemtoLASIK, PRK,PTK, Surface LASEK, Keraring insertion/removal and XLINKING . Monitor the sterility and safety of the surgical field, calibrate lasers and circulating in the theater room . Operate Catalys Femtosecond Laser to assist with cataract surgery. Measurement of VA using a LogMAR chart or Snellen chart, Ishihara test, RAPD measurement, blood pressure and blood glucose test, pachimetry, measurement of IOP using I-care tonometer and ORA. Installation of eye drops and history taking. Undertaking visual fields test, IOL Master, A Scan, Pentacam, OCT Topcon, Optos and Spectralis.
Assist Surgeon in Minor Ops procedure and Intravitreal injections Prepare equipment and instruments according to the individual needs of the patient and Surgeon Prepare patients and provide assistance for clinical/operative procedures Taking and recording visual acuity. Taking and recording blood pressure, blood glucose testing and urinalysis. Instillation of eye drops for individual patients. Undertaking visual fields, OCT, HRT,Optos,Pentacam and other diagnostic tests. Assist registered nurse in preparing equipment for clinical procedures e.g. cannulation, fluorescein angiography. Beginning or end of day clinic procedures.
Lead and support the surgery team to ensure that the highest level of patient care is provided. Performing OCT,Retinal Photography, Pentacam Topography, ECC, IOL master, Wavescan, IOP check and Visual fields. Assist surgeons with the Femtosecond laser prior to natural lens replacement surgery and during Yag laser procedure. Managing clinic stock. Managing complains. Key holder.
