🚀 About the Role: As a Technical Designer III at Cloud Imperium Games, I am deeply involved in the Core Gameplay Pillar for our flagship titles, Star Citizen and Squadron 42. 🌌 Key Responsibilities: Gameplay Innovation: Design and implement innovative gameplay systems and solutions, ensuring a seamless interface and engaging moment-to-moment play. Integral in defining core gameplay loops that set the standard across all products. System Ownership and Enhancement: Oversee the performance and ongoing maintenance of level scripting and gameplay systems. Implement creative solutions that have advanced the capabilities of our gaming engine, bringing to life the ambitious vision of our game universe. Cross-Department Collaboration: Act as a central point of contact among design, art, and programming teams, facilitating the creation of high-quality game levels and systems. Bridge the gap between departments to publish levels or systems that stretch the capabilities of the engine and enhance the gaming experience. Prototyping and Testing: Build prototypes and test levels that effectively demonstrate, validate, and document new game features and systems. UI/UX Integration: Collaborate with UI, Art, and Programming teams to develop both front-end and in-game user interfaces, adhering to modern UI/UX best practices. Work closely to complete user interface features that elevate the player's experience. Feedback Evaluation and Response: Utilize feedback from playtesting, the development team, and design management to enhance the gaming experience. Identify and resolve issues while working with other teams to discover, define, and share best practices, workflow optimizations, and development tools.
