Programme Manager for the Pre-Degree Foundation programme and English Language Foundation programme within the Humanities Faculty.
Lecturer: To lecture Student Skills on the Pre-Degree Foundation programme. Academic Skills: Transition to Higher Education, Personal Management, Listening Skills, Critical Thinking and Managing Text, Critical Reading, Research and Referencing, Academic Writing, Oral Presentations, Team work, Emotional Intelligence and Communication. Life Skills: Time management, Wellness, Stress Management, Motivation and Goal Setting, Problem Solving and Decision Making. Module leader for the Student Skills B module To monitor and assist the academic and personal development of the students on the programme. To assist in the administration and departmental affairs and activities as required by the Programme Head. To work with the Programme Head on developing new course materials and curricula if required. Duties and responsibilities include: • Preparing lecture plans • Setting of study guide, assignments, test and examinations • Preparing and presenting lectures • Preparing digital activities to promote digital literacy • Producing, compiling, filing and distributing course and class notes • Conducting of Baseline Assessments and Multiple Intelligence Test • Student Consultations • Marking of assignments, test and examinations • Mark capturing and mark control check for module and lecturers to ensure quality assurance • Buddy checking for Assignments, Test, Examinations and Supplementary papers • Invigilation • Assistance in Academic Support for students • Mentoring of students
Programme Coordinator: To ensure that the student who graduate from our institutions, are employable, have a broad range of analytical and generic skills including work readiness. Creating a culture where students value diversity and have high ethical values. To be responsible and accountable for all communication between the site, students and lecturers for a specific programme. The training and education of students; student consultations; the establishment of a knowledge base of the discipline through academic research & development, and to provide support to all faculty staff. Lecturing: Lecturing approximately 15hrs a week; support for all Independent Contractors for designated programmes; prepare for all lectures and mark appropriately. Lecture and facilitate Student Support workshops and subject specific tutorials as required, including, but not limited to: WRP, Student developmental workshops, Literacy programmes. To lecture and facilitate experiential learning sessions with relevant programme groups and modules within the lecturer’s field of expertise. Subjects Lecturing: Business Communications, Strategic Planning, Strategic Management, Business Management and Project Administration. Class visits with groups to provide student support at approximately 8hrs a week. Also involved with Teaching & Learning, Research & Development, Team Support, Support for Lecturers and Students. I started in the role of the PA to Principal and HR Coordinator and was promoted to Programme Coordinator in June 2013.
