- Lead scientific and operational activities for programs in the areas of Oncology, Immunology and Dermatology. - Design, plan, interpret, approve, and report data of scientific experiments. - Coordinate with project team and stakeholders. - Respond to requests for information from Health Authorities. - Partner and engage with Contract Research Organizations (CROs). Responsible for the design and performance of Drug Discovery & Preclinical Development activities for therapeutic peptides - i.e. translational biomarkers, in vitro, ex vivo & in vivo DMPK, oral delivery of peptides, intestinal absorption, cell based assays & external collaborations. Responsible for the set up of in vitro systems to assess the bioaccessiblity and bioavailability of therapeutic peptides.
"Bioactivity & Bioavailability of Dairy Proteins". Supervised by Dr. Linda Giblin (Teagasc Food Research Centre), Dr. Phil Kelly (Teagasc Food Research Centre) and Dr. Vitaly Buckin (University College Dublin). Extensive experience in Cell Culture (6 different mammalian cell lines) and Molecular Biology techniques (RNA extraction, gene expression, Real-Time PCR), as well as immune assays (ELISA, Luminex MagPix) and protein chemistry. Also trained in flow cytometry and LC-MS/MS. Product Formulation and Industrial Scale Manufacturing skills as a result of the development of a functional beverage.
- Learnt the development of an in vitro intestinal co-culture system for the study of molecule intestinal absorption. - Used LC-MS/MS to identify the peptides transported across the in vitro intestinal barrier.
