Responsible for performing daily operational tasks and maintaining high service availability for a large Australian telecommunication customer. Perform the necessary backup infrastructure maintenance in accordance with Dell EMC and customer's change management policies.
Provides operational BAU support to various customers for implementations and management of EMC solutions. Works closely with the customer on EMC Best Practices; ensures EMC solutions work as intended in the customer's environment. • Assist in capacity planning and BAU support for an enterprise class backup and recovery environment • Provide proactive recommendations to the customers for improving the use of EMC backup solutions to help maximize customer satisfaction and reliability. Actively contributes to the configuration, layout and performance tuning of EMC products. • Perform troubleshooting performance tuning support for EMC products that include Avamar, Data Domain, Data Protection Advisor and Data Protection Suite. • Work within ITIL change management incident and problem management framework, ensure that scheduled outages arranged to minimize customer impact, but still maintain all hardware and software at optimal levels. • Perform upgrades and maintenance releases to ensure the environment is optimally configured.
Supported the VCE Sales and Pre-Sales team globally and worked closely with the APJ team territory throughout the sales cycle. By doing a Global role, sales and technical knowledge of the vBlock Solution made it guaranteed that the configuration of the compute, network and storage stack of the vBlock that meets the customer requirements. • Generate Bill of Material for Upgrades to support the vArchitect's provided by the customer. • Create configurations for Hardware Expansions for existing customers with limited information about the existing space availability in the vBlock cabinet, by using information provided in Sales Force and data from Pre-Sales. • Maximizes the access given for Global Role in generating Environmental report for the vBlock cabinets per required by the customer in making it foreseeable that the cabinet will meet the power requirements in the customer data center. • Maintains contact with the pre-sales and partners involved in the opportunity in providing BRS solutions such as Avamar, Data Domain, vPlex and Recover Point which made sure that sizing provided to VCE from parent companies is supported by the vBlock stack and support services. • Having a strong understating of the storage Hardware and software offerings of the vBlock from the parent company EMC2, the solution is to ensure equipped with the most functional storage components, support and services in order to meet the customer requirements. • Leveraging internal resources within VCE when supporting a vBlock which is already within the customer data center; making sure that proper services are planned to prevent and handle interruptions accordingly.
