About

I am a visual artist, curator and workshop facilitator. Previously trained in Building Science at National University of Singapore before studying at The Glasgow School of Art, Sculpture and Environmental Art. I have curated the arts programme at Transmission Gallery, Glasgow and worked in production with several arts organisations and festivals in Scotland including Arika and Edinburgh Arts Festival. My practice is informed by the shifting ecological and sociopolitical landscapes. My current research is a study on the politics of gardens and distribution of the commons. This project considers the intersections of gardens politics with coloniality, privilege, power and ecological destruction. The polyvocality of this research gathers from the knowledge and lived experiences of farmers, geographers, environmental scientists and local activist groups while invoking the power of imagination and dreaming to plot new gardens. As an arts workshop organiser, I have facilitated worskshops with children for several years before beginning the platform, K.I.D.S. - Kreatively Imagining a Decolonial School, a programme for children and young people from perspectives and experiences of artists from culturally diverse backgrounds to provide workshops, support mentoring and challenge institutional knowledge around migration, race, gender, politics and culture.
