I am a Law student at Durham University with a strong interest in the relationship between law, governance, society, and systems of change. I am particularly interested in how ideas influence decisions, how institutions evolve, and how young people can contribute meaningfully to public discussions. I currently serve as a Board Trustee of Durham Students’ Union, contributing to strategic discussions around governance, student experience, organisational development, and the long-term interests of over 22,000 Durham students. This role has strengthened my understanding of accountability, decision-making, and balancing diverse stakeholder perspectives. I am also the Licence Holder and Lead Organiser of TEDxDurhamUniversity. At 18, I became one of the youngest TEDx community organisers in the UK, leading a student-led team responsible for curating speakers, shaping themes, managing partnerships, and delivering large-scale public events centred around “ideas worth spreading”. My experience extends into media, communications, and digital storytelling, exploring how ideas can reach and influence audiences through different platforms. I have worked across content creation, event production, and audience engagement, including creating digital content that has reached over one million views. Beyond TEDx, I contribute to student and community initiatives through roles including Head of Fashion for the St Chad’s Charity Fashion Show, Durham Law School Bar Society, Contract Law and Tort Law Module Representative, and Durham European Law Institute Representative. These experiences have shaped my interests in leadership, governance, communication, and creating inclusive spaces where ideas can be exchanged and developed. I am currently exploring pathways in commercial law, with particular interests in advocacy, complex problem-solving, and international legal practice.
