A very experienced, highly motivated Manufacturing Engineer with over 20+ years of experience in the field of high-speed automated assembly of pharmaceutical medical devices supporting a number of different assembly processes. Including, but not limited to continuous motion, and step logic assembly processes. I am responsible for developing, delivering and improving existing Manufacturing processes. Other responsibilities are to support continuous Improvement initiative’s, supporting quality investigations internal/external. I am able manufacture design concepts, test assemblies to prove the solution, utilizing internal Toolroom equipment, or providing solid works drawings to local suppliers or the assembly machine vendor. This includes utilizing internal 3D printing technology to prove concept design, before committing to steel. Whilst working independently on my own projects, When required I also have the responsibility to support the other Manufacturing Engineers / Manufacturing Technicians within the manufacturing team at BD Swindon. (+40 engineers/technicians) I have experience / understanding of the validation process when introducing required upgrades to equipment ensuring that the required validation of the processes to a pharmaceutical standard. I am well versed in the creation/writing of both User Requirement Specifications (URS) through to implementing the final installation Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) Followed by the IQ (Installation qualification) OQ operation qualification and the final PQ (Performance qualification) process. This would include ensuring FMEA creation or updating existing equipment FMEA’s
Manage and introduce CI projects to current production. Responsible for creating new designs to automate manual assemble processes including sourcing suppliers and final validation activities. Responsible for solving current production issues by "Thinking outside the box" including manufacture of prototypes using skills as a toolmaker to manufacture "in house" solutions.
Responsible for manufacture / machining of "one off" parts for historic racing vehicles such as Autounions and Mercedes GP cars (Pre WW2)
Consultant for WPS, Mikron, IVAX and Wilden AG. during WPS closedown of Lewes site, including equipment / automation production line relocations from WPS Lewes UK to other European locations.
