In my role as Infrastructure Lead: I play a vital role as sole engineer, supporting the whole of Serica Energy IT infrastructure and all aspects of BAU support, covering sites in Aberdeen, London, and an offshore asset. Facilitate 7 VMWare Hosts, 50 VMs, Office 365, Veeam Backups, MSA 2050's, patching, Intune and handling a 3rd party network team, ensuring the proper solutions of network issues, and upgradation of devices. I efficiently administer Cyber Security considerations and monitor issues with DarkTrace as well as I implemented Tenable.io to scan for internal and external vulnerabilities and implemented resolutions. My Key Contributions Include: • Functioned closely with Application Support and Business Analyst team members to design and deliver infrastructure sections of projects. • Ensured the compliance of design, redundancy and disaster recovery options for infrastructure with the applications to guarantee the business continuity.
In my role as Rigit & Dart Support Engineer: Utilising my expertise and talents, I supported the WellVantage real-time data aggregation systems on drilling rigs, on and off-shore at global level. I efficiently maintained regular contact with customers and 3rd party engineers concerning the rigs to ensure the correct and timely receiving of data. I gained knowledge about drilling operations and drilling terminology to communicate effectively with all stakeholders as well as provided support to HPE server hardware and Dell Latitude RoughBook, and facilitated Cisco switch troubleshooting and general Windows server support. In this role, I was able to responsible for the following accomplishments: • Effectively communicated with teams around the globe to ensure the efficiency and optimal support of sun support model for customers. Maintained documentation up to date, providing clear and concise descriptions of steps taken to investigate issues and communicating the next actions required during daily handover calls. • Trained new and less experienced colleagues, including general IT troubleshooting, data flow investigation, and high level WellVantage troubleshooting steps. Provided in person and remotely through Microsoft Live Meetings.
I was responsible for a team of 7 experienced network and server engineers. We worked together as a team to fix all IT faults for a large number of SMEs. This involved resolving all desktop and server issues that arose. I also helped provide support for Siemens Hipath 3000, MX and LX phone systems for around 170 customers.
In my role as Systems Engineer: Supported 2nd and 3rd line IT support to more than 55 different companies as well as I fixed faults, from a simple client PC software issue to companywide Exchange, internet or server outages. I gained substantial experience in terminal server environments, built and installed new servers and migrated the domain, exchange and files to new servers. Physically developed the server, RAID, and ILO configuration all by ensuring the conformation with the company standards. I also oversaw Installation and configuration of VMWare as well as created Windows Server 2008 R2 virtual machines.
