  • Chief Product Officer at Red Dot

  • Director of Informatics at Cancer Commons

I worked with the Management team to plan and build a data, apps and partner ecosystem for the benefit of late-stage cancer patients, and also to raise funds from philanthropists to fund our team's work. Using design thinking, lean-startup methodology and an even leaner budget, we built a platform that engaged over a thousand patients, and categorized their outcomes data. Our applications were used to individualize patient experiences with their disease, leveraging data and knowledge from our expert, partner and institution ecosystem. Products built: - MyCancerCommons (a portal for Cancer patients, that categorized outcomes data) - Cancer Maps (interactive visualizations of cancer data, inspired by Google Maps, Waze and a very savvy patient!) Concepts tested: - CTRACS (allows docs to collaborate on a difficult case, using data to make ranked suggestions of similar cases, therefore uncovering "zebras" or rare, relevant cases) - Case finder (allows docs to signal rare cancer cases to the oncology community privately and anonymously using a mobile app) Fundraising: I participated in the fundraising process by presenting our vision, strategy and products to our donor audience. Over $2m was raised over 2 years.
