Technical Support, Service and Maintenance of a wide range of sound equipment, projection set-ups and integrated Video-Conferencing systems (both IP and ISDN). Maintenance of Crestron, AMX and Extron Control Systems. Mediawall set-ups. ●Duties included regularly running the AV at Williams F1 Conference Centre, a facility where a wide range of prestigious clients launched their products or ran seminars. Liaised technically with clients to realise their event. Support of Disney stores across Europe. Also BT Conferencing, Also provided Facilities Management cover at a number of high-profile city companies, such as Level3 where I supported a global network of Polycom video-conferencing units and a number of AV suites.
Focasel Ltd, London (Feb 99 – Feb 2000) – Senior technician providing technical support to some of the major European conference organization companies – such as IBC, Euroforum, & Henry Stewart Conferences. ●Duties included planning ahead the technical requirements for upcoming events. Developed a close liaison with the client , with the ability to improvise at short notice and problem-solve on the spot. ●A list of venues regularly worked include: • The Savoy • The Business Design Centre, Islington • The Dorchester • Earl’s Court Exhibition Centre • The Café Royal • The Barbican • Claridges • The Brewery • The Balmoral & The Caledonian Hotels, Edinburgh etc, etc… ●I also provided technical support to blue-chip companies; such as Merrill Lynch, Jones Lang LaSalle, The London Underwriters Centre, Hewlett Packard, Shell International, ICL etc..
Prior to working for Focasel Ltd I have spent a number of years giving professional services to various AV hire companies by working as a freelancer, gaining a broad knowledge of technical issues relating to live events. I have picked out several, giving brief descriptions of jobs worked on: +Mean Fiddler Organisation, UK – stage manager for events at the Clapham Grand, London. This involved co-ordinating the technical aspects of a live music event, band set-up, soundcheck & dealing with any technical problems. +Dee C Lee Band – toured Europe as her nine-piece bands FOH engineer, one of the hi- lights of which was playing the prestigious Jazz FM tent at the Phoenix festival. +BBC Radio Northampton – setting up live recordings, editing jingles & competitions. (digital editing & analogue tape splicing). +Juice Lighting & Sound, Daventry – setting up and running PA, lighting and video systems for live gigs around the country. Clients included Cambridge Univ, Birmingham Aston Univ. events, & local radio roadshows. +Roy Truman Sound Services, London – conference sound at events held at Planet Hollywood, China Whites, The Park Lane Hotel, The Grosvenor Hotel etc.. +Paul Sparrow Concert & Conference Sound, Southampton – toured England with Tim Berne & his six-piece New York jazz band for two months.
