Alan Jakubowski is a dedicated leader, a motivated professional with a positive attitude. Very proud to have served as the Resident Agent in Charge (RAC), Detroit Field Division of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). Jakubowski retired from ATF in December 2020 after 30+ years of very successful years as a Special Agent/Supervisory Special Agent. Jakubowski is currently employed as a Team Lead Investigator for the successful group at Five Stones intelligence (5Si). Jakubowski maintains a “Top Secret” national security clearance. Additionally, Jakubowski serves as the Law Enforcement Coordinator for Crime Stoppers of Flint and Genesee County and is a member of Crime Stoppers USA. He uses his can do anything attitude supported with many life experiences, and double major of Business and Sociology-Criminal Justice from Adrian College to solidify his current success. As a leader in Federal Law Enforcement in Detroit and throughout the country, Jakubowski developed specific skills relating to managing people, Advanced Threat Assessment, risk mitigation, crisis management, interviewing, motivation and providing and maintaining a secure safe environment. Following his service with ATF, Jakubowski was hired and excelled as the senior account manager for a Michigan based (1000 + employee) security company that focused on physical security using a combination of personnel and technology. He developed his expertise in threat and building assessment as well as school and corporate security. Jakubowski is proud to be a leader and one of the individuals responsible for the tremendous success and camaraderie in the offices and communities that he works in. He has received numerous awards and commendations to include; a Congressional Certificate of Special Recognition from U.S. Congressman Dale Kildee in 2012 for outstanding and invaluable community service; a leadership award from the Federal Executives Association in 2017 for his efforts to the greater Flint and Saginaw area; a U.S. Congressional Proclamation from Congressman Dan Kildee in 2020 for his continued excellence and dedication to the Flint community, as well as a proclamation from Flint Mayor Sheldon Neeley making December 3rd “Alan Jakubowski Day” in honor of Jakubowski’s retirement and service for the community. Jakubowski is grateful, loyal and will continue to contribute to the agencies, companies, and communities that he serves. Jakubowski is also a proud husband to Michelle (28 years) and four awesome children.
As a Team Lead Seized Property Investigator for 5Si, Jakubowski oversees and directs guidance for all of the Seized Property Investigators for 5Si. In this role he provides oversight of all seized assets within ATF and provides on site support when needed on large seizures throughout the United States. Also conducts periodic inventories to ensure best practices and policies are being maintained. This position is also responsible for oversight, proper documentation and disposition of all seized property.
Jakubowski excelled as the senior account manager for a Michigan based (1000 + employee) security company that focused on physical security using a combination of personnel and technology. He authored and secured numerous multi-year contracts with new clients. Jakubowski developed his expertise in threat assessment, building assessment, high risk terminations, as well as providing training (ALICE and Active Assailant) and security planning for various school and corporate campuses.

Leader and supervisor of an active and successful team of federal agents, task force officers and support staff that investigate violent acts related to firearms, arson and explosives. Maintains a budget and oversees a volume of investigations with the focus on the reduction of violent crime. Ensures that deadlines are established and met. Daily meets with police chiefs, high ranking leaders from various law enforcement agencies, including local, state and federal government agencies and leaders of the corporate business and education communities. Developed and is a part of a team of individuals that come from varying backgrounds to work closely, safely and efficiently together. One of the priorities for RAC Jakubowski is to maximize performance of his employees and himself to play a active role in the reduction of violent crime and protecting the public. Frequently called upon to conduct the duties of the Assistant Special Agent in Charge and Division Operations Officer of the entire Field Division. Jakubowski possesses relationship building and interpersonal skills that results in the trust from peers, public and community leaders. Additionally, he demonstrates strong leadership, planning, management and organizational experience with a successful leadership track record and high ethical standards.
Responsible for presenting the Report Writing Section and the proper use of the Computer Management System “N Force” to Agents in the ATF Academy, Glynco, GA. • Assist with the review of the program to ensure highest quality of materials within the accredited program • Currently assigned to assist with the development of the web based ATF Next Generation Case Management System, in the Office of Strategic Intelligence and Information
Risk Management, Operational Planning and Security for Daily Law Enforcement activities and Large scale events (as requested) Review and approve law enforcement operational plans for extended surveillances, undercover operations, arrest warrants, search warrants, and other law enforcement activities. Jakubowski performed the duties of ASAC for the Detroit Field Division periodically throughout the past 6 years and for an extended acting period in 2017-18 while the Field Division was undergoing major structural changes. Jakubowski has a very successful leadership track record with high ethical standards. Jakubowski was placed into this position to oversee day to day operational activities and to transition the present command staff in Detroit. Jakubowski’s strong leadership, planning, management and organizational experience, directing the outcome of multiple, complex projects made him excel during the recent transition.
