I am a driven individual who thrives on setting and achieving new goals, both in my professional and personal life. I have had the opportunity of residing in diverse cities, which has not only exposed me to various cultures but also honed my adaptability to different environments. During my time in my BSc program in Biomedical Sciences, I have gained a range of skills through hands-on experiences. Collaborative research projects sharpened my teamwork abilities and underscored the importance of stepping into leadership roles when needed. These endeavours further refined my communication skills, be it through articulate oral or written communication. Additionally, individual projects enhanced my time management and organisational skills, instilling in me a heightened sense of responsibility. My BSc degree provided me with a solid foundation for my MSc in Cancer and Molecular and Cellular Biology. Through my master’s I have had the privilege to gain experience in working in a wet lab, where I have strengthened practical lab skills such as immunohistochemistry, SDS-PAGE, DNA and RNA extraction and analysis. Additionally, I have been able to explore a diverse set of modules, that have enhanced my understanding and have grown my interest in Cancer biology, particularly in immunotherapy. I have been able to explore and extend my Molecular laboratory skills through my laboratory project, where I have investigated the effect of Olaparib treatment on PD-L1 expression and cGAS/STING activation in BRCA2-deficient High-grade serous ovarian cancer. Throughout my project, I have gained expertise in Western blotting, rt-qPCR and 2D cellular culture. Beyond academics, I embraced the role of an online tutor, guiding students in math and biology. This experience taught me the virtues of persistence and patience, as tailoring teaching methodologies to individual learning styles proved essential for student comprehension and success. I thrive to be challenged and enjoy working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, making me eager to embrace and adapt to novel technologies and applications. I am committed to continuous learning and professional growth, in order to nurture my career.
