This role is responsible for leading the power and utility functions of the organization. It encompasses the generation and distribution of power, provision of steam, compressed air, nitrogen, treated water and appropriate treatment of waste. Description Ensure effective and efficient operations and maintenance of the Power and Utility Plant Generate and distribute Electricity efficiently to all functional unit with high quality reflected on safety, quality fuel efficiency, uninterrupted supply, power factor etc Generate and distribute compressed air efficiently to all functional production lines and machines to ensure uninterrupted production. Generate nitrogen gas for use in the factory. Ensure smooth operation of CNG/LNG downloading station. Ensure all waste water generated and discharged from the factory/plant are in compliance and conformity with environmental regulations, statutory requirements and best practices. Supply steam to the plant for uninterrupted production. Ensure treated water are in conformity with regulatory specification Plan and execute Power and Utility budget Plan, coordinate and manage maintenance of power and utility assets. Confirm contractual jobs and supplied spares are suitable and ensure certification by appropriate quarters. Maintain records of technical literatures, Facility register and manuals relating to our equipment. Approve job completion forms for contractors to ensure the quality of services provided Ensure the safety of self and others in the line of work. This implies enforcement of correct and consistent use of PPEs, best safety practices at work and compliance with safety rules and regulations Perform any other duties as assigned by Management
This role provides technical support for a power plant with installed capacity of 90MW comprising of reciprocating (internal combustion engines) engines and turbines, coupled with a set of boilers with combined capacity of 200tons/h Key Description Ensure adequate generation and transmission of required energy for production and organizational use Coordinate electrical and mechanical repairs, maintenance, overhaul of installed generators, boilers and other auxiliary equipment for efficiency and effectiveness of the power plant operations Ensure effective communication with the site operating load units to manage load demand Develop a comprehensive understanding of site load profile to closely match the generating capacity to the demand Provide required inputs for departmental budgets and manage its execution To assist in the design and execution of relevant projects and contracts within given specifications and budget and within an approved time schedule and target Advise on the availability of spare parts in order to reduce downtime Ensure maximum plant availability/uptime Ensure proper documentation and analysis of maintenance parameters for plant improvement Enforce the compliance of subordinates, third parties and vendors with safety, health and environment standards Ensure effective and efficient breakdown troubleshoot/fault finding of machines and equipment Identify job skill gap of subordinates and organize ‘on the job’ training
This is a mid-management role charged with providing support for production purposes by ensuring availability of compressed air and heavy machinery (forklifts, IC engines operated equipment, trolleys, mixers etc.) Key Description • Ensure optimal operation of air compressors, air dryers, compressed air systems, forklifts and IC engine operated equipment to ensure smooth and uninterrupted production process • Prepare and manage departmental budgets and plan for spares materials needed for maintenance • Ensure GMP is encouraged and enforced • Ensure efficient and sufficient use of available resources to achieve cost effective repairs • Review reports and prepare relevant reports and documentations • Provide technical solutions to challenges faced in equipment operation, repairs and maintenance • Carryout new installations of compressors, air dryers and compressed air systems • Provide safety materials and ensure safe use and operation of equipment and safe work practices for all jobs • Periodically carryout training of forklift operators for safe and optimal use of the lifting machines
• Act as a Liaison officer between the production directorate and technical directorate • Relate with all section of the technical team which includes mechanical services, Utilities, electrical division, power generation and distribution to ensure optimal service provision to production operation • Generate reports on weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly performance of respective sections of the technical team as well as general technical performance • Generate and project future performance of the technical team • Review existing processes and policies and generate new and improved processes with a view to optimize the entire process • Collate maintenance and operational reports, showcasing cost implication, analysis, trends and projection. Comparing such with budgeted projections. • Collate periodic plant and equipment status to include depreciation, reliability, durability and availability
• Coordinate operational and maintenance activities of water treatment plant and steam generation unit. • Plan and execute maintenance activities of water treatment plant and boiler plant • Formulate new and improved operational policies and review existing once for water treatment plant and boilers • Drive ‘total quality management’ and ‘Good manufacturing practice’ processes in water production, treatment and steam generation • Ensure safe working environment and enforce safety practices among staff PROJECTS EXECUTED: • Actively involved in achieving and maintaining ISO-9001-2008 certification for the organization in the capacity of an Internal Quality Auditor (June 2012 Till Date) • Actively involved in generating Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the production section of the organization (September 2011) • Participated in the organization’s Restructuring / Reorganization process (January 2012)
