I graduated with an MSc in Gerontology: Research from the University of Southampton, where I developed research, communication, and leadership skills. As the Student Department Representative for the 2023-2024 academic year, I demonstrated effective leadership by responding to student inquiries, liaising with other academic representatives, and representing student feedback at SSLC meetings. My work enhanced the overall student learning experiences, mainly focusing on international students, and I was honoured to receive the Best Academic Impact Award 2024. In addition to my academic achievements, I am deeply committed to supporting older adults and reducing loneliness among them. Since 2020, I have volunteered with three nonprofit organizations in the US and UK, primarily as an activity assistant. In this role, I provided compassionate support to clients with chronic conditions, including dementia and cancer. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I maintained meaningful connections with clients via Zoom, offering one-on-one meetings to ensure continued support. While completing my master's degree, I volunteered in intergenerational programs that united older adults and young people, fostering mutual support and enriching experiences. I am looking to pursue a PhD program to further my research in Gerontology and contribute to the ongoing development of meaningful interventions for older adults.
