Dublin, Ohio, United States
I am AJ Frost and I am a third-year student at The Ohio State University. I am studying Finance with a minor in Entrepreneurship & Innovation. I have been apart of several different teams that involve high level communication skills, along with demanding hard work. I have work in the business industry and beyond, as I have worked in Columbus at Worthington Enterprises and abroad in Berlin, Germany for ProVeg Incubator. At Brookside, I helped enhance different member's experience on the golf course by carrying their bag, raking bunkers, finding golf balls, and making sure that I am a guy that can give the group a good laugh whenever needed. I started here at a young age and built a foundation on how to communicate with others. I took this to Urban Meyer's Pint House & other One Hospitality restaurants where I had to work hard to keep the restaurant clean, organize supplies, communicate with coworkers, and with customers. I have also gained skills from the Dublin Business Academy which gives students a hands-on opportunity to run an apparel business that sells any type of clothing or accessories you can imagine. I communicated with customers and worked with classmates to make sure that our product met the customer's standards. Lastly, I have an interest in public speaking, as I was Dublin Coffman's valedictorian representative at graduation, where I gave a speech in front of my graduating class and their families at Value City Arena. I enjoy following Columbus sports, traveling, music, and hanging out with friends in my free time.
This is a hands-on experience with brand and product marketing with Bernzomatic products, as well as making strategic decisions for specific products and the direction of the company in order to best serve our customers.
This is a paying job. Activities include: Carrying players bags, looking for golf balls, raking bunkers, and socializing with club members to make their experience more enjoyable.
As a server, it is my goal to use my knowledge of the restaurant and our products to maximize the experience of the customers that I serve. Menu rapping is a critical part of my role, as I give customers a quick overview of our food and drinks right as they sit down. Upselling is also a major part of this role, as adding protein to salads and pastas can add to revenue gained and tips. As a server assistant, it plays into other previous roles that I have had like bussing, barbacking, and food running.
At Short North Pint House, the main roles of the barback are to stock all fridge items including drinks, fruit, ice, and more, while making sure all of the dishes are clean and ready for bartender usage. When it is a little slow, it can be helpful to aid the other workers who are apart of the team.
I was selected to lead my group of six individuals in a project for ProVeg's Incubator to analyze how their investments are making an impact on their company and society. We used Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that were given to us by ProVeg to create formulas that we transferred to an Excel Spreadsheet that showed ProVeg's Startup's impact on the environment. Our project was extremely successful, as we created a product that can be edited and used as the numbers are updated in the future.
This job is designed to provide restaurant customers with quality services while keeping the flow of the business. Organizing tables and glasses, maintaining cleanliness, and being a strong server or bartender assistant are all qualities needed to work in this position.
